On Friday morning in Kolkata, dengue claimed another life. Suman Sarkar (32), a former Ganganagar resident who was living with his in-laws in Nagerbazar within South Dum Dum Municipality, passed away at a private hospital in Bagbazar due to the vector-borne infection. According to sources, Sarkar was in a severe state when he was hospitalised. He had a fever that had been bothering him recently. Despite having a dengue diagnosis, Sarkar was receiving care at home. His condition deteriorated, and he was brought to the hospital. He received rigorous medical attention, but he did not improve. However, the state health department stated that an audit is being done on all dengue deaths.
