9 Income Tax Officers arrested for joining Department without Clearing Exams

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested nine income tax officials in Nagpur, Maharashtra on Tuesday who are suspected of joining the agency without attending exams conducted by the personnel selection board, an official statement said. The defendants are Rinki Yadav, a stenographer (Grade I1), Sarita, Anil Kumar, Rahul Kumar, Abhay Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Chandan Kumar, Manoj Kumar, Pradeep Kumar, Manish Kumar and Dharmendra Kumar, all of whom are income multitasking staff ( MTS). According to sources, the defendants did not attend the entrance examination. Instead, they presented bogus candidates for these exams, thereby defrauding the personnel selection committee and getting selected for his MTS and stenographer posts in the Income Tax Department. During the investigation, examination papers and other employment records of these candidates, including their handwriting, signatures, and thumbprints, were sent for forensic analysis using the handwriting, signatures, and thumbprints of a sample of these candidates,12, Of the nine candidates namely Rinki Yadav, Anil Kumar, Rahul Kumar, Abhay Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Chandan Kumar, Manoj Kumar, Pradeep Kumar and Manish Kumar did not actually show up for the above test. A pseudo-candidate has emerged for this test, it said.
