A Musical Tribute to Celebrate the Centenary Years of Satinath Mukhopadhyay & Utpala Sen
The Handicapped Development Welfare Association paid a musical tribute to the legendary composer Satinath Mukhopadhyay and singer Utpala Sen on their centenary years

Kolkata: The Handicapped Development Welfare Association organized a musical tribute to legendary composer Satinath Mukhopadhyay & singer Utpala Sen on their centenary years. The duo has given some unforgettable numbers as they crooned together that are remembered till date. Shri Debashish Kumar, Member of Legislative Assembly, Rashbehari Constituency was present at the event to pay the musical legends at Uttam Mancha.
Late Shri Satinath Mukhopdhay was one of the well-known singers in the Bengali film industry. He did his first playback singing in the film named ‘Jugodebata’ which was released in the year 1950. He has also composed music for four films. Satinath Mukhopdahay has released his first record called ‘Bhul kore jodi’, and ‘Eitku sudhu jani’ in the year 1943. He breathed his last on 13th December, 1992.
Late Smt. Utpala Sen, on the other hand, was known for her prominent singing and was a very popular time in the 1950s alongside Sandhya Mukherjee, Pratima Bandopadhyay, Alpana Banerjee etc. She has sung numerous duets with prominent male singers such as Hemanta Mukherjee, Manna Dey and Satinath Mukherjee.
Eminent musicians Haimanti Shukla, Shivaji Chattopadhyay, Arundhuti Holme Chowdhury, Srikanth Acharya, Saikat Mitra, Sriradha Bandyopadhyay, Babul Supriyo, Lopamudra Mitra, Jayati Chakraborty, Shampa Kundu, Aritra Dasgupta, Chandravali Rudra etc. have performed on the occasion.
The evening left a lasting impression on the audience as they were taken to their memorabilia of some ever-green songs, crooned by the duo.
