The Dornala Sub-Inspector (SI) M Srinivasa Rao and the Markapur Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) Circle Inspector (CI) Ragamayi conducted inspections in a chilli crop field in the Bommalapuram village limits of Peda Dornala mandal on orders from Prakasam district Superintendent of Police (SP) Malika Garg.

The cannabis plants were discovered in the centre of the farmer Adapala Chinna Kondaiah’s chilli production. Later, the police set the marijuana plants on fire. An inquiry is ongoing after a case was filed against the accused. The information on home ganja cultivation, for which there have been numerous cases reported in recent days, has the district police on high alert.

It should be noted that on November 30, five days prior, Markapur SEB officials SI-Padma and the Markapur SI Sasi Kumar conducted a joint search operation in the Bapuji Colony within the town limits and discovered that ganja cultivation is taking place in a home backyard by the accused Siva, who has been selling to the neighbourhood students for a while. The police have filed a case against the home’s owners, Dasari Nagamma and Dasari Peraiah, even though the accused is still at large.
