Ekbalpur: NIA wants to interrogate suspects in jail


The Central Investigation Agency (NIA) wants to interrogate 17 people arrested in the Ekbalpur incident in the port area. On Friday, 17 people arrested in the case were produced before the special NIA court at Bichar Bhawan. There, NIA lawyers opposed the bail of the detainees and sought permission to interrogate them at the jail. The judge granted it.

Several areas of Ekabalpur became heated on October 8 and 9. On the basis of which the police filed five cases and arrested a total of 68 people. Last week, the NIA took over the investigation of a case on the instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs. A team headed by NIA SP visited the spot and collected samples and spoke with local eyewitnesses. 17 people arrested on Friday were taken to court.

According to Lalbazar sources, the remaining four cases related to the Ekbalpur noise are in the hands of the Special Investigation Team of Kolkata Police. which was formed on the orders of the Calcutta High Court. Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal is investigating the case. The seat is scheduled to submit the investigation report of those four cases to Calcutta High Court on November 14.

The NIA said that they have taken the information and case diary of the case from the Kolkata Police. Some more information remains to be taken. The detainees need to be interrogated to know what exactly happened in Ekbalpur. So the application has been made to the court.
