Exported of 5.62 lakh Tonnes of Sugar

According to the All India Sugar Trade Association (AISTA), India has exported 5.62 lakh tonnes of sugar in the current 2022-23 marketing year, which began in October. The government had allowed the export of 60 lakh tonnes of sugar in this marketing year. Out of the total dispatches for export from sugar mills, which were 12.19 lakh tonne, physical shipments have been completed for 5.62 lakh tonne until December 9.
Most of the sugar has been exported to the UAE, followed by Bangladesh, Indonesia, Somalia, and other countries. Additionally, 5.22 lakh tonnes of sugar is currently being loaded or waiting to be loaded. In the previous marketing year (2021-22), India set a record by exporting 111 lakh tonnes of sugar.
