Government stands by the government employees on the DA issue, claimed the two ministers

The state government is sensitive about the issue of DA or Dearness Allowance. Not against state government employees. It is not true that the state government does not care about the government employees. But trying to create an atmosphere of distrust. This is what Finance Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya said in a press conference in the state assembly.
Protests broke out in Kolkata on Wednesday over the demand for arrears of Dearness Allowance (DA). The opposition is also encouraging the state government employees’ movement. After this, two ministers of the state, Chandrima Bhattacharya and Manas Bhuya, held a press conference in the assembly and said that the state government is with the government employees. Chandrima Bhattacharya said, “From 2008 to 2011, 35 percent was DA. From 2011 to 2019, the Chief Minister increased it to 90 percent. 27 thousand crore rupees were spent then. In 2019, the recommendations of the Fifth Pay Commission were accepted. DA and Basic have been increased to 125 percent.”
Chandrima further said, “The state government will do what it is legally required to do. They will tell you how much is left. We will tell you how much is left and what is not. It is a matter of justice.” Apart from this, Chandrima Bhattacharya attacked the opposition by complaining against the central government regarding the withholding of dues of the state. Talking about DA, Minister Manas Bhuiyan also accused the Center of deprivation. “It is not that the DA is being neglected,” he said.
