How India be a part of FIFA World Cup 2026
As the World Cup 2022 is coming to an end, Indian football fans are wondering if the national team, known as the Blue Tigers, will be able to qualify for the 2026 World Cup in North America. This is because the 2026 World Cup will feature 48 teams instead of the usual 32, and India has been steadily improving in recent years, including the growth of the Indian Super League. Currently, India is ranked 19th among Asian countries by FIFA and will not have to play in the first round of Asian qualification, instead starting in Preliminary Round 2, where 36 teams will be divided into nine groups. However, India’s current ranking of 106th in the world and lack of success against top Asian teams make qualifying for the World Cup a difficult task.
