A Minor girl of 12-year-old was abducted and gang-raped near Sealdah Railway Station.
In 2021 Kolkata was announced as the safest City according to the released National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report for the year.But is it really safe for women and for young girls, not just Kolkata but be it any city or state.
A 12-year old school was allegedly kidnapped by her neighbour resident from North 24 Praganas district of West Bengal and brought to Kolkata Sealdah Railway Station. The incident took place on September 20 .Around 11.30 pm, the girl asked kidnapper for food. He was suppose to arrange accommodation for her so that he can lodge the victim for the night but he could not. When they moved out of the station, one of the three accused tapped them and assured food and accommodation.The accused then took the duo to a place unknown to both of them. He then tricked the kidnapper and went to the girl.In the meantime, the accused also called two of his friends and took the girl to a place on the pretext that everything has been arranged. The accused took the girl to a remote place near Narkeldanga Road where the three allegedly gang-raped the minor girl.
According to DC (ESD) Priyobrata Roy, one a resident of Basirhat in North 24 Parganas, brought with him the minor victim girl from Baduria with ‘some ulterior motive’ that is still being investigated.
