Newborn Found Dead Inside Govt. School Toilet

On Wednesday, December 7, a newborn infant was discovered on the grounds of a government school in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. When the infant was brought to the hospital, the physicians pronounced him dead.
The police have opened a file in relation to this and are looking into the situation. The newborn infant was only a few hours old when he was discovered inside a public school. The infant was discovered dead inside the school’s restroom in the Kattur neighbourhood of Trichy, close to Thiruverumbur.
The headmistress of the school informed the police. She said in the police complaint, “When the school sanitary worker Shantha entered the toilet, she found an unknown newborn male baby there with bloody injuries.” On getting the information, the complainant sent it to GH, Trichy, but the doctor declared it as being brought dead.
According to Section of the 174 Code of Criminal Procedure, police have filed a case relating to this occurrence (CrPC). Police are looking into whether the infant was delivered in the school’s restroom or if someone accidentally dumped the newborn baby boy there.
The cops are also looking into further angles. In the meantime, forensic specialists were sent in to analyse the scene for signs. After learning about the occurrence, representatives from the Adi Dravidar Welfare Department, Tehsildar Chandra Devanathan, and School Education Department arrived at the scene and launched an investigation.
In order to prevent such incidents, the parents of the pupils at the school have now urged that sufficient security guards be recruited there and that CCTV cameras be installed for such untoward incidents.
