Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is set to embark on tours to several districts with the mission to guide and motivate her party leaders and cadres, apart from reaching out to the people with welfare schemes implemented by her government ahead of the coming panchayat polls.

Following her ‘Bijoya Sammilani’, state government sources said the prime minister will visit Krishnanagar on November 8, where she will attend a political rally the next day. On November 10th, she will preside over an administrative meeting in Habibpur city under her block of Ranagat in Nadia district before returning to Kolkata.

Banerjee’s visit is gaining momentum ahead of the state’s Panchayat elections, according to a Nadia district party leader. They said they were expected to discuss candidate selection with party leaders.A senior TMC leader in Nadia District said, “In this district, internal strife within the party is worsening and if Banerjee cannot control the situation now, it will be out of control by Panchayat elections. So I expect the prime minister to send a clear message to the party grassroots during her visit.

Also, the arrests of former TMC Education Minister Partha Chatterjee and Bilbam District President Anubrata Mondol on suspicion of wrongdoing have weakened the party, and overcoming this will be a challenge for TMC’s top executives.“Arrests have left our party behind. Didi knows how to deal with it. , we need to motivate party members and we will do it before elections in all constituencies,” said a senior TMC leader. After Nadia, the prime minister will visit other districts. “After Nadia, the Prime Minister is to visit North Bengal, where her party is in jeopardy due to power struggles,” a senior government official said.
