Tiruchirappalli International Airport: Customs Officials Seize 211 grams Gold from Choclate
On Saturday, a passenger arriving at the Tiruchirappalli International Airport in an Air India flight was intercepted by customs officials during a check. Upon inspection, officials found three containers of chocolate powder ingeniously mixed with 211 grams of gold powder of 24-karat purity, as well as 175 grams of gold chains in the passenger’s check-in baggage. The total value of the recovered gold is estimated to be Rs 21.55 lakhs (approximately $29,639). Officials are continuing to investigate the matter.
