The Lifetime Achievement Award, Was Conferred to Mr. Dhritiman Chatterjee

Kolkata: “Cinemar Samabartan honoured some of the best works done by the film fraternity in the year 2022. The competition was intense and we had a tough time in deciding on the award winners. The somewhat eerie emptiness of the now desolate iconic Gem Cinema, which has screened so many Jubilees till the early 90’s, made us choose it as the venue for this year’s award ceremony. Over the years, Bengali cinema has grown leaps and bounds in all aspects – from directions to performances to technology. We welcome this change and look forward to the best of creative works from everybody involved in the creative process of film making. With the Bengali film industry getting the desired boost with the success of the last few releases of 2022, we can only hope for the better days ahead”, said Mr Nirmal Dhar, Secretary, West Bengal Film Journalists’ Association (WBFJA).

There were 18 award categories in the popular segment, 8 award categories in the Technical Award segment and the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award, which was conferred to Mr. Dhritiman Chatterjee for the year 2023.

The nomination categories were for the Best Film, Best Director , Best Actor in Leading Role, Best Actress in a Leading Role, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Best Actress in a Supporting Role, Best Actor in a Negative Role, Best Actor in Comic Role, Best Music, Best Playback Singer (Male), Best Playback Singer (Female), Best Music Director, Best Background Score, Most Promising Director, Most Promising Actor, Most Promising Actress, Most Popular Film of the Year & Most Popular Actor of the Year.
