We don’t divide people in Bengal, we believe in uniting them: CM

While attending a pre-Christmas event in Kolkata on Wednesday, a Bengal CM said Bengal brings people together rather than dividing them. Urging people from all communities to attend the Christmas celebrations, West Bengal Prime Minister Mamata Banerjee said Wednesday that West Bengal is a state where people are not divided on the basis of their religious identities. She also said Bengal should be a place where people follow different religions, but come together to celebrate during various festivals. “In Bengal, we don’t divide people, but unite them. Like every year, Christmas will be celebrated throughout the state; from Jhargram to Bandel…in each and every district, Banerjee said.
Christmas celebrations at Allen Park began on December 21st and continue through December 30th this year. Park Street is lit up with dazzling lights and crowds gather for Christmas Eve and Christmas. A huge Christmas tree and a figure of Santa Claus were also installed in the park. A spokesman for the organizer told PTI that the park has 30 booths, including booths for the city’s well-known food service brands.
