The BSF noticed suspicious movement of 3-4 individuals with head-loaded items near the border fence, and upon being challenged, the individuals dropped the items and fled. The apprehended smuggler was found with 326 bottles of Phensedyl, a countrymade pistol, a mobile phone with two SIMs, and currency from both Bangladesh and India. He was handed over to the police. In a separate incident, on-duty BSF personnel were attacked by 5-6 Bangladeshi smugglers in Dakshin Dinajpur district, and a smuggler was shot and killed in retaliation.
